In January 1934, devoted cooperators of the Nawanshahr Sub-Division took a wise and farsighted step by organizing this bank,
by amalgamation of two Cooperative Unions namely Dhaha and Jandiali with working capital of Rs.2.25 Lac, in a small rented room in
local Gurudwara Sahib. On formation of Nawanshahr as District, Balachaur Sub-Division was amalgamated in this bank w.e.f 01.10.1996.
CCB Nawanshahr has been registered vide No. 95 dated 23.01.1934 under The Cooperative Societies Act and also taken the license from
Reserve Bank of India in 1990(LICENSE NO.:RPCD.PB. 47-C (RENEWED RPCD.(CHD)(NHR)PB-16 in May2012).
Now, The Central Cooperative Bank Nawanshahr is a bank with total business of Rs 1415 crores , third largest
cooperative bank in the state of Punjab in terms of Deposits. The Capital Adequacy Ratio of the bank is highest in the state i.e. 27.39%.
This bank is serving small/ marginal/big farmers, weaker sections of the society, businessmen, salaried and professional in rural as well
as urban areas in Nawanshahr District with 47 branches and 149 Cooperative Multipurpose Societies. In all, 453 cooperative societies viz
agriculture, industrial, labour & construction, milk, weaver and other societies are the members of this bank. The customers have not to
go more than 5 to 6 kilometer to avail our banking facility in the district.
All the branches are fully computerised, air conditioned and are equipped with water purifiers and coolers. Locker facilities are provided.
The Core Banking Solutions has been implemented in all the branches and thus all the branches are computerised and are providing facilities like RTGS/NEFT, Direct Benefit Transfers, ADHAAR based payments and direct online crediting of scholarships, pensions and subsidies.
Deposit mobilisation is backbone of the banking business.Based on Cooperative principles, bank has moblized deposits from local people and people living abroad with trust, care and security.Our bank is authorized to open NRE and NRO accounts.
